Artistic Director Alexandrous Ballard and Board Member/Choreographer Walter Kennedy leave for the DanceUSA Conference Wednesday morning very early. They will spend 3 days attending workshops on every aspect of developing and maintaining a healthy arts organization, watch the Washington DC showcase and schmooze like nobodies business. Attending the Portland conference some years back was a watershed event for BDC, especially the “leadership for Artistic Directors” part of the conference. Looking forward to learning new and exciting things.

Our 2010 choreographic workshop is happening soon, here are some details:

Bouand DanceCompany is holding an exclusive 3 day choreographic workshop aimed at the emerging choreographer.  Limited to 10-12 participants and taking place over a concentrated 3 days, this workshop is for those individuals wishing to learn and practice the skills necessary to create, curate and manipulate movement and collaborate with dancers as co-creators in a relaxed and humane rehearsal environment.  Each of the 3 days will be led by a different choreographer; Walter Kennedy, James Gnam and Alexandrous Ballard.

Limited to 12 participants, carpooling and ridesharing are encouraged. Workshop can be videotaped and photographed if a record is desired.

Please come early to warm up and get situated, wear loose dance clothing, socks or ballet shoes and a curious mind ready to learn.

Price: $150 per participant for all 3 days
